Sutter Health is committed to building the next generation hospital to meet the health care needs of  the residents of Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo and surrounding communities.

This $320 million project includes the construction of a new, state-of-the-art hospital on the Eden Medical Center campus in Castro Valley, campus improvements including additional parking, and the demolition of the old hospital once the new hospital is complete. In addition, Sutter will fund the construction of the adjacent medical office building, pending budget and program approval, at an additional $80 million.

The project is fully funded by Sutter Health. This is the first, comprehensive hospital rebuilding plan in Alameda County that is financed without taxpayer support or public funds.

This new, regional hospital will be called Sutter Medical Center Castro Valley and will continue to deliver the quality services you’ve come to expect, including Emergency and Trauma Services, a Neuroscience Center, maternity and medical, surgical and diagnostic services.

The project team—the best and brightest architects, contractors and innovative healthcare experts in the country—have set out to create a hospital that is the perfect blend of design and function.
